THUNDER (ARTIST BIOGRAPHY)
Johnny
Thunder (born 1941, Leesburg, Pensylvania)
As a youngster, Johnny sang in the church choir with his family.
Record producer Teddy Vann heard Johnny sing and asked him to record
a song Teddy had written. They took the finished song to Diamond
record executive Phil Kahl, who liked it and decided to release it
on his label.
The song "Loop de loop" became a solid smash hit in early 1963.
In Rolling Stone Magazine, Bob Dylan said, “Johnny Thunder is the
best live performer I’ve ever seen.” |
