RUBY AND THE ROMANTICS (ARTIST BIOGRAPHY)

Ruby & The Romantics was an American early 1960s rnb group, frequently considered a one-hit wonder, which topped the charts once with 1963’s Our Day Will Come, written by Mort Garson and Bob Hilliard.

Tremendously underrated ’60s American pop-soul group who lineup featured a female lead vocalist backed by four guys. Brill Building style pop. While their home was Akron, Ohio, they recorded their hits in New York for Kapp Records. They hit number-one in the winter of ‘63 with “Our Day Will Come” and while none of their follow-ups climbed as high, they were consistently popular in and received plenty of airplay around the New York area.
